Agence Wallonne pour l'Intégration des Personnes Handicapées (AWIPH)
The Agence Wallonne pour l'Intégration des Personnes Handicapées (AWIPH) takes care of the interests of people with disabilities in the French speaking communities of Belgium. Apart from headquarters in Charleroi, AWIPH has seven regional offices. Its tasks are integrational support as well as institutions and help for the fostering of autonomy, vocational and further training, employment, caring and housing. Belonging to AWIPH there are for example 14 specialized centres for vocational training, all supervised and financially supported by the AWIPH. These centres offer trainings in 30 vocational fields in the framework of the alternating system. The qualification of adults with disabilities in the field of information and communication technology plays a central role. Moreover, AWIPH has many years of experience in a series of European projects and takes advantage of a wide network of international partners.
